Through a series of partnerships and initiatives, MSK look to reuse materials wherever possible, the main items that are regularly recovered to be reused are timber pallets, carpet tiles and traffic barriers. These items can be reused for various purposes, both on site and for community investment projects.
With an ongoing focus to reduce our carbon footprint, MSK have committed to a partnership with North West Kent Countryside to fund and volunteer for ongoing tree planting days in our local communities. With each tree we planted we save an average of 22kg of CO2 per adult tree.
MSK has partnered with Protec International Ltd adopting their Proplex ClosedLoop Remanufacturing Scheme for recovering polypropylene temporary protection materials.
So far, this partnership has resulted in
> 72.54 tonnes of temporary protection material sent to Protec from MSK Waste facility
> 177.723 tonnes of atmospheric carbon saved by the Closed Loop Recycling Scheme
> 384.4 m³ of landfill space saved by using the Closed Loop Recycling Scheme
